According to Wiley and Sons, 2005 "The concept of sustainable development is an attempt to combine growing concerns about a range of environmental issues with socio-economic issues. To aid understanding of these different policies this paper presents a classification and mapping of different trends of thought on sustainable development, their political and policy frameworks and their attitudes towards change and means of change. Sustainable development has the potential to address fundamental challenges for humanity, now and into the future."
The three pillars of sustainability:
- Economic sustainability is of great importance in all countries of the world. It revolves around capitalism in countries, economic growth to satiate the basic neighborhoods of all countries.
- Social sustainability is one of the most important sustainability, and it is the relationship that revolves around the individual and the resort and the interdependence between them and the improvement of social, health, political and educational services in order to make all societies unite in a unified manner.
- Environmental sustainability: It is considered one of the most important sustainability, as it is the relationship that exists between the individual and the environment, and we do not drain the natural materials because factories and smoke start to pose a great danger to the environment, so Vision 2030 aims to protect nature.
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia's The Line is one example of a sustainable development practice:
The Line is a new city set to be done by 2030, with world-class qualitfy of life and putting humans first, providing an urban living experience while preserving the surrounding nature. It redefines the concept of urban development and what cities in the future should look like, with no roads, cars or emissions. It will run on 100% renewable energy and 95% of land will be kept for nature. People's health and wellbeing will be prioritized over infrastructure and anything alike, unlike traditional cities.
